How to reach Siena
From airports
From Florence
Siena is located 60 km from Florence (Firenze). From the airport you can take a taxi or an urban bus (2 buses an hour, 20 minutes) to the central bus and train stations. Buses (1h 10 minutes, about 20 a day) and trains (around 1h 30 minutes, about 18 a day) connect Florence to Siena. Buses leave from the SITA station in Piazza della Stazione S. Maria Novella on the right hand side, just 50 m from the railway station. Buy your ticket at the counter in advance, and remember to jump on the "rapida" bus.
The last stop is in Siena in the town centre.
From Pisa
Pisa airport is very conveniently located (3 km from the centre), and has a railway station with train service to the central station (5 minutes), or direct to Empoli (45 minutes), from where you can catch a connecting train to Siena (19 a day, 1h). Alternatively, you can catch an urban bus or taxi to the central station (5-10 minutes). From Pisa central railway station there is no direct train connection to Siena: you must catch a train to Florence (frequent service) and change in Empoli (19 connections a day, 1h 50 minutes including the change).

From Rome
Fiumicino airport has a railway station with train service to Rome. Take the Sabina-Fiumicino line which stops at Tiburtina (45 minutes). There is a train every 15 minutes, and on Sunday every 30 minutes. At Tiburtina railway station there is a national and international terminal bus. The name of the bus company to Siena is Sena (9 bus a day, 3h of trip).
From Bologna
From the airport you can take a taxi or an urban bus to the central bus and train stations. There are many train from Bologna to Florence and buses (1h 10 minutes, about 20 a day) and trains (around 1h 30 minutes, about 18 a day) connect Florence to Siena.
